Approx. 600 Million Users are Blocked by Facebook Check out Why?
Subsequent to the Cambridge Analytica section, Facebook is eager on improving its services and to create the platform extra secure. On 15th May 2018, Facebook launched their first Community Standards Enforcement Report, as an attempt to reinstate the trust of the people in the company that was crushed after the leaking of data.
That’s the reason, apart from low down many third-party apps, Facebook has now disabled 583M fake accounts from the site in the first quarter of 2018. It has been predicted that these ‘fake’ users engaged in a section of Facebook’s whole user base. This valuable information was given by Guy Rosen who is the vice president of the company for product management.
Rosen stated that around 6.5M fake accounts were being formed daily in the first quarter of 2018. However, Facebook was able to halt these accounts just after few minutes of registration, kudos to its Artificial Intelligence. Rosen also stated that around 3 to 4% of accounts on the platform are still ‘not genuine’.
“As Mark Zuckerberg said at F8, we have a lot of work still to do to prevent abuse. It’s partly that technology like artificial intelligence, while promising, is still years away from being effective for most bad content because the context is so important.”
