Our Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi conducted a Bollywood meeting on Tuesday, 18th of December to discuss Bollywood’s future which included many big names of the industry including Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Amir Khan, and many more famous names. And just like before, there was not even a single sign of women in the meeting. Can we include all this in sexism? Well, if we discuss it here, its a very big question to be answered. So let's directly roll on to these successful women from Bollywood which were supposed to be included in the meeting.
Joint MD of Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor is one of the most powerful names in the industry, male or female. She has nearly produced 40 movies in her 17-year-long career as a film producer and was also given a spot in the list of ‘Asia’s Most Powerful Communicators’ by Asia Week magazine in 2001.
She has written and directed only two movies till date: English Vinglish and Dear Zindagi and for both of them, she won 7 out of 8 awards she was nominated for. She has also made over 100 advertising films and short films including Oh Man! (2001) which got selected for the Berlin Film Festival.
Started her career as a screenplay writer with Vicky Donor and went on and on with movies like Piku and October. She has won the National Film Award (Best Original Screenplay) for her movie Piku. Quite surprising isn't it. How can someone achieve success so fast?
