The school ward that engaged a 40-year-old high-school science faculty teacher and cross-country trainer who wedded a 16-year-old student could discover no cause to fire him, school officials said. Brenton Wuchae instructed Windy Hager at South Brunswick High School, where she just finished her sophomore year as one of the school’s peak runners. Wuchae reconciled his situation and, according to a marriage certificate, wedded Hager after the girl’s parents begrudgingly gave their approval.

Brunswick province Schools Superintendent Katie McGee said both the school system and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office probed Wuchae’s incident but did not come up with adequate proof that would value charging or even sacking the trainer. “As a permanent instructor, I am truly stunned and saddened by what has transpired,” McGee said.
