Albert Einstein married his first cousin now that is a strange thing but in those days, it was the most common thing to do. Yet many people are unaware of the fact that this was a very bad thing to do in terms of science but it was discovered a way later then the genius himself did that. The statistic shows that 80% of marriages in past were among second and first cousin only. 

Right now at this time, it is something that is of shame for many sections of society but at that time it was considered to be an ideal marriage. But now as it has been brought to the notice of world that this is the reason for most neurological diseases and inbreeding it has decreased over the time. Cousins are considered the grandsons or granddaughter of the same grandfather.  

Now that’s insane to even think right now, maybe today we have many options and at that time it was attended. Not many people know about this stuff that they can get married to a person that lives in this tiny world despite his creed, caste or color. They hadn't been aware of the fact that the cousin marriage was just for enjoyment and you need not be bride or groom to your cousin. 

Things have changed a lot and the world has also changed a lot, this has led to the world that is more open to feeling that they can't hold anymore and customs and way of looking at things have also been changed. We are nobody to accuse them as that was the time this was done. But yea we have got an example that even then people had done stuff that we are amazed as well as in a mood to raise a question that what made you do that.
