An individual face can either be oval, diamond, square, long, round or heart-shaped. In this article, you will learn about steps which are needed to measure your face.  You will be requiring a ruler or a measuring tape. 
The first step involves measuring of a forehead. Just take the ruler or measuring tape and from the widest point of your forehead measure across your forehead.

Next, come measurement of the cheek area. Just like forehead with help of the ruler or measuring tape just measure length across cheeks till your cheekbone.
Similarly, measure your jawline.
The last step in face measurement is measuring the length of the face. This is done by using ‘Cross shape method'. Measure the length of your face from ear to ear, by putting your ruler, just under the eyes area. Next comes measuring the length from hairline to chin. A ratio may vary from;1 to 1, 1 to 11/2or 1 to 2.
Type of face cuts:

1. Hear shaped face:

This kind of face cut narrow at the jawline and wider at the forehead. Such kind of face cut may even have a pointed chin. Side swept bangs, Brow grazing fringe, short hairs or long hairs with long layers look amazing on heart-shaped faces

In such faces width of cheekbones, jaw and forehead are almost equal. A sharp angular feature is the major characteristic of this face cut. Shags, super short edgy cuts, long bobs or side swept bangs all these hairstyles look good on women who have square shape face cut.

3. The round face:

The width criteria are almost similar to square face the major difference lies that in this features are soft and rounded instead of angular. Long bob haircut, any shoulder length hairstyle or side swept and long bangs are some of the hairstyles that go with the round face.

4. The diamond face:

In such faces, jawline and forehead are of the same length along with wider cheekbones. Hence giving faces a heart shape. Well, the hairstyle that goes with such face cut is same as that of the square face.

In such cases face is much longer as compared to wide. Well, such kind of faces needs the haircut that can add width to their face.  As such faces generally have longer foreheads hence bangs go very well with this face cut. 6. The oval shape:

If your face length to width ration equals 11/2 than your face is an oval shape face. These kinds of faces are versatile in nature. This means that almost all kinds of haircut suit this face type.
