Indian Government reportedly lists 42 Chinese apps as dangerous, including TrueCaller, UC Browser, Mi Store.

Indian government has advised its military personals to avoid using Chinese phones and server Chinese apps ,to avoid spyware and malware from getting access to confidential and classified information .Chinese brand are known to sell or even leak out information of its users and customers without their acknowledgement .Indian intelligence  has reportedly listed 42 mobile applications that have the potential to carry out a cyber attract against the country .

Even if you are not a military personal ,you should not install these apps to avoid being victim of  cyber crime .We all  have private data in our cell phones be it our images , bank account details , contacts ,emails etc one should not share his private details or data with any unknown applications.

Meanwhile ,Truecaller has replied in this matter ,it says "“In response to certain reports, we would like to clarify that we are a Sweden based company. We are not sure why the app is on this list, but we’re investigating. Truecaller is not a malware, and all our features are permission based and are disabled by default."I would consider truecaller  safer than other apps listed above .

If you have noticed ,its interesting that most of the apps listed above are anti-virus s and web browser. UC browser was recently removed from play store but it has popped up again  .If you value your security and private data ,avoid using the apps listed above apart from truecaller being Swedish company and not Chinese .Being said that it is better to be safe than sorry .
