As two teenage girls have now been sentenced to spend decades under the institutional regulation for the 2014 knife attack of their class-fellow, the mother of their prey is sharing a note of trust for other families who may find themselves opposite the aftermath of a dreadful assault on someone they love.

Payton Leutner beards 19 knife wounds after she was assaulted by Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier with a dagger and left for dead in the Waukesha, Wisconsin, woods in May 2014. All three girls were 12 years old on the occasion. Leutner, now 15 years old, was able to creep to a close road where a fleeting bicyclist stopped up to assist her and she endured her critical injuries.
Her mother, Stacie Leutner, memorized caring for her daughter in the hours and days after the assault. She has attended nearly every trial at each step of the legal procedure. For other families who may have kids dealing with disgusting disaster, Stacie presented some support.
Payton Leutners mother Stacie Leutner presented a memorandum of wish for other families dealing with terrible catastrophe.
"I know what you're going through the hardest thing you've ever experienced," she wrote in an email to "20/20." "You may be feeling perplexed, besieged, lonesome, or frightened. I too felt many of those effects over the previous three and [a] half years and, at times, it felt similar to I would never find my way through."

"But if you believe in your might and trust in your flexibility you will get through this," she went on to write. "It will take time and it will receive tolerance in yourself but you will come out the other side stronger than before. Take time to breathe, take time to chuckle. And most prominently be kind to yourself."
