Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, dies after prolonged illness.
At actor and a perfect gentleman, Shashi Kapoor passed away at 5:20 pm at Kokilaben Hospital. The actor was was suffering from kidney problem and was on dialysis since very long time. ShashiKapoormarried actress Jennifer Kendal. The actor is survived by daughter Sanjana and two sons namely Kunal and Karan.
Shashi Kapoor son of Prithviraj Kapoor started his career as a child artist in his father’s plays. Actor was known for his contribution in films as well as theatre. Actor has not only worked in Bollywood movies, but has earned fame in international cinema. Actor has made his Bollywood debut from the movie Dharamputra in year 1961. Shashi Kapoor has acted in more than 100 fims. In 1970’s and 1980’s actors fame was at its peak. Shashi Kapoor is known for his fimsSharmilee, kabhie-kabhie, Trishul, Deewar, Shaan, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, NamakHalaal, the list is endless.
In year 2011, the actor was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. In 2015, he was honoured with the DadasahebPhalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema.A picture of him with his former co-stars went viral.
The actor was famously known as ‘most handsome star ever.’ Besides acting skills, the actor was known for his dancing moves and charming smile. The actor’s famous dialogue “mere paasmaahai” top the list of best lines of Bollywood.
