Definition of Chromosome
Now we come to the chromosome part of the body. As we have discussed already that our human body is made up of cells. Now we take an example to understand things in a better way – Suppose you are going for a walk for some purpose and it’s a really sunny day and you got a sunburn that means your skin will peel. If I say in scientific terms your skin cells are shedding.
Now, if you will see deeper in the cell then you will find that at the centre of a cell its a small area is located and we call that nucleus. Inside this nucleus chromosomes of a human being are situated. We have studied that where chromosomes located but the question arises now that what are they and what is their functionality.
So, basically the answer is chromosomes are a structured part that contains DNA and DNA contains your genes. Whereas genes are responsible for your body traits like it decides your blood type and your eye colour and much more. In general, every cell of the human body consist of 46 chromosomes in total or we can consider them in pairs that are total 23 pair of chromosomes are present in every single cell of the human body.
